Weekend Happenings

Friday night we fed the missionaries. Steve wanted to document the perfect grill marks on the hamburgers.
(Note: Steven just got braces.)

Saturday we went to the Boy Scout Expo at Santa Anita. Steve is in the Boy Scouts so he had to help man the water-rocket booth. Jackson and I went to hang out with dad.

Here is Steve looking really serious about his work.

To pass the time Jackson had a photo shoot.
(Here is Jackson looking like he has something really important he wants to say:)

Although it looks like Jackson has a cool little tuft of hair, it is actually just a palm tree.

(Look at my antennae!)

Baby Steps

Mallie loaned us this great little lawn mower. After a little trial and error, Jackson picked up on how it works.
(For the record, the cereal in the background was $1.88/box. Whoo hoo!)

It's just a matter of time now before he is walking on his own!

SUPRISE!

Monday we received a suprise delivery from Hong Kong.

I thought it might be a couple of second-hand lions, but they weren't making any noise.

Somebody sent Steven two dental work stations!

Now Steven can do homework at home.

(Halloween in May.)

Jackson has had a really bad diaper rash, so Steve modified Jackson's diaper to let his rash air out. Luke and Kristin came over to keep the boys company while I was working.

Mom! Wake up! Play with me!

Can't get enough!

We took a quick trip to Disneyland on Wednesday. I took Jackson on the Merry-Go-Round, thinking it would be right up his alley. He loved watching the Merry-Go-Round go round, but he wasn't really sure about riding himself.

Jackson has been all smiles, I can't get enough of him.
Here is good shot of his two bottom teeth and his lateral incisors. His pediatrician told me that it's too bad it's not October because Jackson is getting fangs. He obviously wanted to take the picture himself.
One more winning smile.

Tonight our home teacher came over with his brother. They are both really big tall guys. Jackson was happily playing by himself across the room, but when they came in he got a big unsure crusty look on his face which progressed to pouty-lip, and then made his way over to mom and dad. We all got a good laugh out of it. Even after the visit Jackson wasn't sure about these guys.
Kids are amazing.

Women's Conference

This year I attended Women's Conference with the Shively Women. It has become somewhat a family tradition. It's great to get together with my cousins, whom I rarely see, but with whom I have a lot in common--starting families/being a "young mom.". We had a great time. The highlight for me was breakfast at Kneader's, all you can eat french toast, but this french toast was amazing! Here's a picture of the lot of us.
