more fam vacation pics

It's been a full week, gone by too fast!
Wednesday morning we did a driving tour of Pasadena,
circling the Rose Bowl and stopping at the Shops on Lake.

The men-folk waiting out side Ross. Too many great things to try on!
In the afternoon we met up with Steven and had a quick tour of campus.
Tommy the Trojan at USC.

Unfortunately, neither the Lakers nor the Clippers were playing at home this week.

So , we went to the World Figure Skating Championships at the Staples Center.

Okay so this is a picture from the bigscreen--we were beyond nose bleed.
Thursday included a daytrip to Disneyland.
Taking the tram from the parking structure... Jackson can't wait!

Can't skip out on Toontown!
I think the family favorite was Friday morning at the Long Beach Aquarium.

Jackson really liked the Octopus.

We finished the night with a trip to the LA Temple, thanks Jen for babysitting!
The Egbert Fam will be taking off in the morning, the week has gone by way too fast!
It's been so great to get to spend time with family and share some of the fun things here in California.
You can book your family vacation by calling Boyle Travel Agency.

Family Vacation, you can too!

Welcome Egbert family to Southern California! Mom and Dad Egbert and Aunt Jenna have come for a little vacation. They arrived last night. For our first day, we travled south to go whale watching at Dana Wharf.
We didn't see any whales, but we did see some dolphins out in the distance, and these sea lions.

Awaiting departure.

It was a little windy for Jackson.

Not too windy to enjoy a little snack, however.

The Boyle Family.

The Happy Grandparents.
After our Two Hour Cruise, we drove along the Pacific Coast Hwy to see the shops and we found a little beach along the way to have a picnic lunch.

The water was a little too cold for Little Jackson's taste.

Picnic lunch.

Jackson on the verge of crawling.

No beach adventure complete without a nap in the sun.
Or exploration of the tide pools.
Can you spot the fish?

Can you spot the seal in the background?
Looking forward to another day in paradise!

A Cold Day in Calif.

Steven's calling in the ward is to be on the emrgency preparedness committee. As part of his calling we took a little drive to the army surplus store near the coast. Since we were in the neighborhood, we stopped in at the beach. We parked in front of a little church.
I'm not sure what was supposed to be in the box, but there were a couple of snails living there.

Even though it was really windy and cold and we had no jackets, we had traveled so far we were determined to set foot on the beach. We found a flag flapping in the wind, but not many people.

Jackson was pretty excited to be at the beach, in spite of the breeze.

Jackson sat in the sand for the first time. He was interested but a little nervous. This would be a keepsake photo for sure, but then I realized I had the color setting wrong on the camera...

By the time I could fix it, Jackson decided he wasn't so sure about the sand.
"Pick me up mom!"

Late Update

Last week we had a few exciting moments.
Steven plays basketball Tuesday and Saturday nights at the church and Tuesday night we had a casualty. Luckily, he has an extra pair from the mission days. What is also appearant from this picture is that it is "Mustache March"...
Jackson started feeling much better, he is no longer getting breathing treatments. Now we are working on the rice cereal and baby food. This is a typical messy attempt to convince Jackson he likes it.

My new awesome visiting teacher stopped by and brought me this really pretty looking pudding/fruit/cake sundae from a culinary arts school near where she works.

Mostly, we are just grateful to have Jackson smiling again!

Welcome to Disneyland

We finally broke down and bought season passes to Disneyland. We think we found Jackson's twin (plus one eye). Jackson did really well on the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster, but he didn't so much like the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, the shark attack was a little much.
Jackson was a trooper considering the fact that the next day we took him to the doctor and he has RSV, meaning runny nose and "pulmonary toilet". So much for avoiding the Idaho winter.

Here is Steve giving Jackson a breathing treatment. Sad face! But not to worry, he is improving steadily! Thanks for all your prayers on his behalf. He is breathing much easier, smiling, and playing...
And sitting up on his own!
I'm too sexy for my shirt.

Last night, as parents sometimes do, long after Jackson had gone to bed Steve and I snuck in to Jackson's room to watch him sleeping. And this is what we found:

Poor little Jackson!

Needless to say, I finally got serious about finding a crib bumper.

Okay, I know its kind of girly, but it does match the green walls.

Jackson has also been practicing his dental hygeine.
With daddy's tooth brush.

I think he's got it down.

I think we've got a future dentist here.

Sunday Night Post

Jackson has an "Oh-crap" handle too! When mom's driving you never know what can happen.

Teacher, Jackson ate my homework!

Actually, these are the visitingteaching assignments.

I love paper!
